Dr. Ted Loos has been practicing Chiropractic
since 2001. He was a scholarship student-athlete at Life University College of Chiropractic in Marietta Georgia where he did extensive study of Gonstead Technique, Thompson Drop Technique, Sports Injury Management, and Rehabilitation Techniques.
After retiring from his competitive Rugby career, Dr. Ted turned his athletic focus to Marathon running. He has completed sixteen Marathons since 2004, including the prestigious Boston Marathon every year since 2007.
Dr. Ted is very active in the Roxborough community. He is a member of the 21st Ward Medical Society and serves on the Board of Managers of the Roxborough Area YMCA. Dr. Ted maintains his ties to the fitness community as an instructor for Goals Fitness. www.goalsfit.com He can be spotted running the trails on Forbidden Drive in the wee hours of the morning - Feel free to say hello!
Niva Merlino, CMT graduated from Cortiva Institute of Muscle Therapy in April '12 and has been working at Great Life ever since. She learned various forms of massage including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports, Reflexology, Myofascial, and Trigger Point Therapy. She also has separate ceritficates in Sports Rehabilition and Massage for Migraines. Prior to Massage Therapy school, Niva studied Kinesiology at Temple University where she earned her Bachelors Degree. She treats each patient as an individual while working for them and with them to help them feel better. She strongly believes in the benefits of massage as an adjunct to Chiropractic. She is passionate about and respectful of the human form. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to help her clients find solutions to their conditions.
Kristine Kennon, CMT, graduated from the National Massage Therapy Institute, and is very excited to be joining the team at Great Life Chiropractic. Kristine believes that the whole body is connected and addresses the body as a complete system. Seeing a chiropractor all her life, she understands the importance and benefits of Chiropractic Care and Massage Therapy working in tandem. An aspiring Dula, and Midwife she loves working in a clinical environment. Specializing in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue techniques, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Sports Massage Kristine tailors each massage session to her client's needs, helping each individual to achieve wellness. Colleen Joy, Practice Manager, is a classically trained portrait photographer and small business owner herself. Colleen brought her entrepreneurial spirit to our team in April of 2013. She is the one that follows up with patients, makes sure each patient gets enough time with Dr. Ted, and untangles the confusing web that is health insurance these days. She is our go-to person when you have questions about this practice or need to get on our schedule. Since working at Great Life, Colleen has caught the Marathon-Bug and is now a current member of the world renound Wall of Fame.
